Amazon Prime Day is the perfect time to take advantage of the incredible deals for kitchen, dining, and pantry items. My KitchenAid hand mixer recently conked out after 20 years of heavy use. Here’s the new model I just purchased: KitchenAid 7-Speed Hand Mixer in Contour Silver for $69.95. I love the 7 speeds from the simple, low setting for stirring to high for whipping cream or mixing in chocolate chips or nuts in a heavy dough when I don’t want to bust out the stand mixer. As a recipe creator, I bake a ton of cookies and these new beaters are a bit thicker than the previous model which means they will withstand the constant scraping against the bowl. Another item I needed to replace is the beloved crock pot. I use the heck out of it year round. I used to think of the crock pot as a fall and winter appliance, when in reality, I think I use it more in the summer because it doesn’t heat up my kitchen like the oven and stove do. I love to throw in some boneless, skinless chicken to make Crack Chicken Sandwiches or Pulled Chicken. It’s essential to make my 24-hour bone broth. And it’s great for making and keeping casseroles, meats, side dishes, or queso hot for family gatherings. My choice is the Crock-Pot 7-Quart Slow Cooker on sale for $69.99. It’s locking lid makes it easy to transport to potlucks (or chili cook-offs), and the programmable timer allows you to customize your cook time for when you want it. It has a large capacity and the removable crock makes it easy to clean.
Looking for an airfryer? These popular appliances are great for taking frozen foods to crispy in minutes without heating the oven. They work by heating the air that circulates around the food, much like a convection oven, but with a compact, countertop size. They’re great for reheating leftovers, roasting veggies, and even dehydrating foods. The Ninja 5-Quart Air Fryer is the perfect size and its on sale for $89.99.
One of my most recent purchases was a Ninja Mega Kitchen System food processor/blender combination. I had a food processor ages ago that I rarely used because it was bulky, heavy, hard to clean and the feet suctioned so strongly to the countertop that I had to drag it off the edge of the counter to release the suction. I figured I could live without one once my kitchen was remodeled. But when my blender broke, I found this food processor and blender combination. I LOVE IT! It is so convenient to swap out the blender for the food processor as they use the same motor. Plus it comes with a single serve blender cup, too!
Believe it or not, I am new to the coffee and espresso world! I know! Hard to belive that we raised 5 kids without a drop! Many of my grown kids are coffee aficionados, so I became curious and discovered that a good latte is a wonderful way to start the day. I have two options for you: Nespresso Vertuo by Breville with Milk Frother or the Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker. Both models make a variety of coffehouse style drinks with a variety of brew sizes and come with milk frothers. The biggest difference is that Nespresso uses pre-measured, single serve pods and the Ninja uses fresh grounds of your choice.
