Wooden Serving Trays

I love a wooden serving tray to bring warmth and texture to my table. They can be used for charcuterie, desserts, appetizers, or even simple cheese and crackers. They can also be used for decorative display purposes on holidays. I love this set of two that comes in two sizes. This acacia wood can be cleaned with soap and water and air dried, too. Don’t sleep on this one!

Cork Coasters & Trivets

I use these every single day. Cork is fabulous at absorbing condensation, unlike ceramic trivets and coasters. I love that cork insulates the serving dish and prevents it from changing temperature due to my perpetually cool quartz countertops. Sometimes I even grab a cork trivet and slide it under my dinner plate when I am eating at the island. It helps my warmed plate of food stay hot.

Napkin Holder or Caddy

We use paper napkins at our house a lot of the time. And to be completely honest, if we eat fast food, we know they’re going to toss any napkins we didn’t use in the garbage, so we take them with us. Do you do that? I love a nice caddy or napkin holder to keep them in. Here are two great looking ones for you to choose from. One even has space on each side for salt and pepper shakers, too.

Salt & Pepper Mills

Freshly ground pepper is an underrated seasoning! I love it! And I have had many pepper mills over the years. I love ones that can be easily refilled and have several grind size options. I also love if it comes with a matching salt grinder, too. Something so satisfying about twisting your salt and pepper right into a dish! This set is beautiful and sleek and will go with any aesthetic.

Butter Dish

What kind of butter do you use? I grew up in the age of tub margarine. Somehow we thought it was better for us than butter, but that is definitely not true! Both have fat, but real butter should not have any artificial ingredients. I want to keep my food as free of artificial ingredients as possible. Read the labels and compare for yourself. But for my family, I use butter. You can get butter in a tub, and I do buy that, but I also like sticks of salted, grass-fed butter. When I know I’m serving bread with butter or corn on the cob, I set my stick butter out ahead of time to get it softened a little bit. I love a butter dish for just this purpose and I like it to look good. This one is perfect. You can actually reverse the way you use it. The wooden lid can serve as a lid or as the base.

Gravy Boat

A gravy boat is a wonderful vessel for serving gravy at any meal. I want one that is microwavable so I can reheat it if it gets too cool. The saucer under it helps catch drips and keep my table neat and clean. And the generous 24-ounce capacity is perfect for a family my size. I also love that it’s white and goes with many dinnerware styles. Did you know you can use your gravy boat for maple syrup or salad dressing, too? I think it elevates your table setting when you eliminate bottles and jars and use serving ware instead. I love a pretty table!

Gravy/Sauce Ladle

Even though the gravy boat has a pour spout, I love a gravy ladle as an option when serving gravy or any sauce, including salad dressing. This one is 18/10 stainless steel which is the best in the industry, and has a sleek look at a great price. It doesn’t hurt to have two of these around and at this price, it’s a great deal.

Serving Spoons

I can’t tell you how many times I went to serve a dish and didn’t have the right spoon for it. I finally got stocked with plenty of serving spoons, both regular and slotted. Using the tablespoon from the silverware set just doesn’t seem to fit the job like a real serving spoon with a more generous bowl. This set has two of each and the slots are not too big that peas slip through.

Spoon Rest Set

We have lots of family gatherings and of course there’s always food. Either the night before or several hours ahead of time, I plan my food layout and what serving pieces I’ll need. And I always include a spoon rest for each dish, partly because I want to make sure I have a spoon for each dish so people aren’t scrambling to find a way to serve it. I love this set of 8. Each one is generously sized at 4.5 inches for larger serving spoons or even tongs, which I use for serving lots of things. The bowl is generous enough to contain the sloppiness, and there are four different, beautiful designs. I’m ordering another set!

Placemats

Placemats are for more than a beautiful place setting. They help protect your table from scratches, burns, or messes. They can also help define your guest’s eating area and help keep track of whose glass belongs to whom. We have 10 of us at the table, so I appreciate this benefit of placemats. I love a neutral color when my dishes are colorful and a colorful one with my white dishes. I also love to add texture to the table and this set of 10 natural, water hyacinth ones are perfect for that and they come out to $2.40 each, which is a great bargain. If round isn’t your thing, I am also linking a rectangular option that comes in a set of four with other color choices, too.
