Cuisine American
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ⅓ cup semisweet chocolate chips
To Bake Brownies
- 1.5 sticks melted butter (12 tablespoons)
- ¼ cup vegetable oil (or other neutral oil)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
To a one quart jar, add sugar, use a spoon to level the ingredient.
Next add cocoa powder, leveling with a spoon.
Add brown sugar, and press firmly with back of spoon to level and compact mixture.
Next mix the flour and salt and add to jar on top of brown sugar.
Top with chocolate chips. Secure lid to jar and add instructions as a label or tag.
To Bake Brownies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 8x8 or 9x9 metal baking pan with parchment paper or spray bottom with cooking spray.
To large bowl, add 1.5 sticks melted butter. Cool slightly. Add oil and vanilla.
Whisk in eggs. Add contents of jar and mix with wooden spoon so all ingredients are incorporated.
Spread in prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until pick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting for best result. But if you like them warm, like we do and can't wait, use a plastic knife and clean between cuts. Makes 16 two-inch brownies. Enjoy!
