Easy Fudge Brownie Mix in a jar to give as gifts!

Fudge Brownie Mix in a jar to give as gifts?! YES, please! We LOVE warm, fudgy brownies at Laura’s Corner Kitchen! And they make great gifts, whether you give a mix with instructions or bake them yourself. I love to pack the ingredients in quart jars and give for the recipient to make at another time. With so many baked treats during the holiday season, it’s great to have something on hand for a few weeks down the road. Either way, there’s still time to make this great gift from the kitchen. They’re perfect gifts for party hosts, neighbors, relatives, your favorite hair stylist or nail tech (along with a tip of course), or last minute people you’d like to gift.

Here’s a free printable label for you to make it even easier! Fudge Brownie Mix

  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1.5 sticks melted butter (12 tablespoons)
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil (or other neutral oil)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  • To a one quart jar, add sugar, use a spoon to level the ingredient.
  • Next add cocoa powder, leveling with a spoon.
  • Add brown sugar, and press firmly with back of spoon to level and compact mixture.
  • Next mix the flour and salt and add to jar on top of brown sugar.
  • Top with chocolate chips. Secure lid to jar and add instructions as a label or tag.

To Bake Brownies

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 8×8 or 9×9 metal baking pan with parchment paper or spray bottom with cooking spray.
  • To large bowl, add 1.5 sticks melted butter. Cool slightly. Add oil and vanilla.
  • Whisk in eggs. Add contents of jar and mix with wooden spoon so all ingredients are incorporated.
  • Spread in prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until pick inserted comes out clean. Cool completely before cutting for best result. But if you like them warm, like we do and can't wait, use a plastic knife and clean between cuts. Makes 16 two-inch brownies. Enjoy!
